i've been high on cough mixture for the past few days. going into work 'high' is not fun. ugh~

not abusing substance, just sick..

a spark

it's been ages since i updated my blog. there wasn't any update before since there wasn't anything happening in my life. let me recall again... nope, nothing.

so i've been working for slightly over a month now. i think my job is menial and my manager doesn't like me very much. i don't think i did anything to offend her or something. due to the fact that i'm sitting in someone else's cubicle, i'm like a part-time operator, "oh, she's on leave. ok bye bye." there's just no thrill in what i do there. i'll gradually lose my 'fire' working there.

it's funny that how you never appreciate what u had until it's gone. i miss certain things but still retain something. i had pasta for dinner in front of my computer. i have 8 pillows again. missing the duvets. missing my studio-like room.

no idea what i'm writing here. that is all.

back in as

today is the 4th day i'm in alor setar.. thus, it's been bloody four days that i had to eat alone. i'm on the verge of breaking.. this is the longest streak that i'm having to eat alone... and from the looks of it, this is going to continue for another few days before xinfang comes back.. first time in my life that i'm so looking forward to see xfang... but she doesn't need to know about this.. hah...

no she does not read my blog..

summary for the past few weeks..

It's been weeks now that i've not updated my blog. I've been not busy but a little occupied. Been moving house from south east london to north west london. Spent my last two weeks in london lying around the house doing nothing. Exactly what i've been doing for the past three years - A useless arse hole.
Shann shann arrived in london last week. Me and as picked him up from heathrow. This is the first ever flight that i know of arrives early to heathrow. It's ridiculous. That flight, MH4 to be precise, touched down half an hour early. He actually got out to the arrival hall on the scheduled arrival time. Hence, the poor fella had to wait an hour for us. The last time i took the MH4, i got out 2 hours later than the scheduled time. After that little wait, we went into central london for dinner. Guess what – jap food. I suppose whenever i go out for meals, it's always jap food. After dinner, we brought shann shann to soho. I went soho with a bunch of not adventurous people. Left with no action and a £60 ticket.
The following morning, we got loads of prawns for breakfast. And beers to go with the prawns for breakfast. What a life.
We set for oxford later on. Met up with fuisze and lipeng. Visit the university and had lunch at a jamie oliver's italian restaurant. I have to say, the food was disappointing. My steak was bad and so was as's carbonara. Before as and shann shann head up to nottingham and manchester, he dropped me back to uxbridge. By the way, i made lipeng missed her train and had to get a new ticket.

This trip back to m'sia is the first time i'm using etihad airways. Had to transit in abu dhabi anyway, so i decided to make it a stopover flight to visit shen shen in the desert. A city with nothing to do and few to see. Well i reckon one can shop all day if given the money. The culture in UAE is quite different. Interestingly, it's illegal to watch your car in public. Also, i don't really see women here being oppressed as bad as i thought. Apart from visiting a few malls, i spent my time there accompanying two stewardess watching tvb dramas. AS will understand where i'm going with this. Concerning the weather, it's preposterously hot. I think it was 38 degree on the first day. By the end of the first day, i'm half dead with a dreadful headache. The second day was much better though.
The flight was pleasurable. Partly because u know somebody who distributes the food and drinks onboard. Also i brought along a cup noodle. Dreaded plane food all this while.

touched down in klia on time.. and i rushed to lcct to catch the airasia flight.. all the rushing and extra baggage cost me bloody rm144.. i only had rm150 on me.. after all that, i hadn't any money to buy food... very bloody hungry.. with rm6, i bought a bottle of water - rm3... the other rm3 was enough for me to buy a donut.. A donut.. sigh~

and i realised the bus station curry mee soup is not as thick as before.. and it cost a whopping rm5..

moving out

so we finally moved out of the house and gave the keys back.. it was a back breaking 4 days to move the stuffs and of course clean the mess up.. we still lost 400quid per person! 

for the clogged sink and the wall in my room.. i didn't know about the wall.. apparently water is sipping through from the bathroom.. ugh~ how was i suppose to know... 

so be that as it may... i'd have no dig another 400 for the new computer that i need badly..  

3rd day on the couch.. hah.. nobody else is allowed to use the couch now.. i feel like a troll.. instead of a bridge, i don't allow anybody to use the couch.. hah~ 

advice

do i have the right to terminate a human life? though it's indirectly.. it's still partly due to my advice.. i believe in personal choices and a rational decision.. on the other hand it seems to be pretty cruel... i have no idea of what to make of it... 

why don't people come chat with me when they're happy or have some happy issues to share with me but come to me when they're in bits and pieces? 

it's not that i'm not willing to help.. i'm more than happy to offer a helping hand.. but it's quite sickening at times...

my second date with a hostess

hahaha.. the title may be misleading..

anyway, eshen was on her second trip to the uk.. her layover for this trip is much shorter than the last one.. despite that fact, we managed to squeeze a few drinks before her '12 hour' period.. she was kinda conned into thinking it was 24 hours for the last trip.. haha.. 

my voyage there took about two bloody hours..ugh~   but was there on time, in fact, a lil early.. had to carry quite a bit of stuffs for her to help me carry it back to m'sia.. carrying 3 bottles of body wash, 6 boxes of tea, 2 tins of cookies, and 4 bottles of lotion, can be very tiring.. *ps- thank you for helping me.. very sweet of her.. haha..

that's that.. had some cava rose before we set off for uxbridge.. the bus took about 20mins to half an hour.. we walked around pavillion and the chimes for a while before she complained that she was hungry.. poor gal only had an omelette for the whole day.. so we search for some restaurant near by and found nandos.. had half a chicken and 2 sides before she ordered another half a chicken.. i couldn't finish my bit so we had to take it away with us.. 

went for a drink in a pub.. three tuns... had a pint of stella each... i was checked for id again.. damn.. lucky she brought her passport along with her.. head back to the hotel after that... 

ordered room service.. and went to bed.. ate before that... 

the next morning was painful for me.. had to get up at 6am.. AM !

well, she was up like an hour and a half before that.. she had to checkout by 6.30 see.. sat at the lobby with her till her pick up.. so i went to get a bus home at 7.. bloody missed the bus and had to wait for another 15 minutes.. i had not waited for a bus at such hours in a long long time... reminded me so much about croydon.. 

got home at about 9.. everybody going to canary wharf is for work while i'm going home.. hah...

just had a 13 hours sleep.. first time in a while now without staying up for long hours.. literally all i do is eat and sleep.. now i feel like a total unemployed useless arse hole.. like those stereotypes u see on tv.. my days now are governed by cigarettes and beers in a different manner.. it's similar to my second year uni without the thrill of having essay deadlines.. not exactly thrill, but i suppose u'll get what i mean.. my 2 year long worries finally came true.. how's that, i CAN predict the future.. 

anyway, i finally found the books that i've been wanting.. the whole 4 volumes of the golden lotus.. cost me about 10quid which i thought was a very good price..

i watched bruno two days ago with jia, cying, and alasdair in kensington. the movie was not too bad.. lots of toilet humour.. okay, it's totally toilet humour with an austrian accent.. and partly gay porn.. . hahaha.. one part that i remember is him calling osama, King Osama, and he looks like a dirty wizard or a homeless santa clause.. i have to say it's much better than borat..

oh yea, i bought my student ticket with an expired student card.. hahaha.. and it's orange wednesday! and yea.. my student card is expired.. now that there is no more worries about essays due and exams, i can erase those two subjects from my life.. anyway, i am full of shame while i look ballooned with pride.. sigh~ 

but i'm looking forward to next week to watch ice age 3 in 3d..

china trip 09

the trip was about a month ago though.. finally find the time to write about it.. 

let's start...

Day1 :-

flew into beijing airport where i was picked up by rain and her uncle.. the traffic condition in beijing is... how do i put it... u have not only motorised vehicle moving from 4 directions, u have moving objects from 8 directions.. moving objects includes bicycles, people walking, carts, and etc. the cabs are pretty cheap though.. anyway, after checking into the hotel, we went for dinner in QuanJuDe(全聚德) for it's duck.. the duck is simply amazing.. we went back to the hotel after dinner and chilled in the hotel... went for reflexology in the hotel.. it's quite comfortable.. for supper we had some barbecued skewers thingy with YanJing beer... the beer was good with a distinctive crisp taste.. eshen did mention it before i went.. though the skewers were not that good.. 

*ps- the night before the flight i stayed over in kat's house..

Day2:-

we didn't leave the hotel until 2.. so we only managed to cover TianAnMen square, the forbidden city, and then chill in a cafe on a street which i do not remember its name.. for dinner, we met a friend of rain's in a private restaurant.. for starter, we had yak's ear and pork(it's legs).. the ear was jelly liked and tasted like gelatin.. we had prawn, beef, chicken soup, mushroom, and another type of soup.. they all tasted weird.. really not accustomed to the northern china's cooking.. the chicken soup tasted like chicken in boiling water.. i asked for soy sauce to go with the soup and everybody was looking weirdly at me.. hah.. and the mushroom was with abalone sauce.. it cost as much as an abalone.. we walked around in town a while after dinner and i bought a fan.. the fan with a tiger on it.. it costs me about RM80.. should have bought a few more.. damn.. 

Day3 :-

we went to 798 artzone.. interesting displays of art.. quite unique actually.. it has a melting slr and a bmw made of brick.. for dinner, interestingly we went for vegetarian food.. i'm not finished, a very expensive vegetarian restaurant.. the most expensive pot of tea on the menu was RMB2000.. seriously.. i think it's called pure lotus and run by a monk.. the interior was really pretty.. naturally the food was terrible for me though impressive nevertheless... i had a vegetarian steak.. the funny bit was after dinner, we wanted to go for karaoke so we went to one near our hotel.. we were told the small rooms are all full so we ask how many person could the medium room fit.. the lady said it could fit 4 person.. we were quite baffled and ask to view the rooms.. it turned out that the room could actually fit 8.. turning to the lady, she said, "usually 4 guys will ask for another 4 girls". hence we realised we went into a whorehouse.. 

Day4 :-

went to the summer palace.. this place is fucking huge.. it's 6 times the size of the forbidden city.. very pretty.. it must have been fun being an emperor.. visiting that place is like going for a hike.. was out of breath when i reached the top.. the view made it worthwhile though.. and for dinner, i had thai food ! hahaha.. the green curry was good but the tomyam was not.. visited the olympic village after dinner.. 

Day5 :-

flew into DaLian.. I love this city.. it is really beautiful and it felt as if i'm outside china.. we had a friend's employee meet us at the airport.. we then went to the hotel and just spend the evening walking along the beach.. the view is just breath taking.. we then met two friends for dinner.. had seafood steamboat.. after 4 days of beijing food, finally, something i enjoy eating.. after dinner, we went for a joy ride in which i needed to pee badly... they had to stop at a internet cafe and i went to pee.. 

Day6 :-

jenny, a friend in living in dalian, brought us to tiger beach.. there we went into an aquatic park.. boring... then had bbq beef lunch.. i think it was korean.. this city is heavily influenced by the koreans and japanese... good food.. my kind of food... and beer to go with that naturally.. during my stay in this city, every meal was accompanied by beers.. had coffee after lunch.. a nice lil cafe.. very 'english'... we went for another joyride again.. this time along its windy coastal line.. really really amazing views... we saw a mirage.. and literally fresh air and pleasant weather.. it has cliffs and we saw people cliff fish.. and for dinner, we had porridge.. really good as well.. karaoke after that.. 

Day7 :-

flew into guangzhuo via wuxi.. we were stucked in the wuxi airport for 4 hours... delay... i pity the airports' employees... the passengers were really hostile towards them... a fat lady was banging on the glass door and scolding them really badly.. after that ordeal, we touched down in guangzhuo finally.. we had somebody picked us up at the airport to the hotel.. i had a cheese baked rice from a restaurant near the hotel.. 

Day8 :- 

i spent the whole day in the hotel.. due to bad weather and i was bloody tired after a whole week.. we had dinner with some friends of rain's mum.. they were literally arse kissing.. haha.. we shopped around awhile after dinner.. i got a pair for nike... which then i threw my old pair out.. 

Day9 :-

the people from last night's dinner fetched us to the airport to catch a flight into GuiLin.. from the plane, the landscape in guilin is just so surreal... the whole guangxi is this pretty.. 青山绿水... literally.. LiuZhou is about an hour and a half's drive from guilin.. we had a driver to pick us up from the airport.. upon arriving in rain's house, her grandparents greeted us and i have no idea of whatsoever they were saying.. they speak liuzhou hua.. which is quite different from putonghua.. we had dinner in her house and went for a drive after that.. i met lily for the first time and sent a text to aikseng.. private joke, sorry.. haha.. anyway, we went for coffee in which in my opinion, the worst cup of coffee i ever drank.. 

Day10 :-

after waking up, we went for a hair cut.. mine took much less time than their and another friend took me out for dog meat.. it was really delicious.. very aromatic and tasty.. a pot of dog meat and a bottle of beer.. perfect match.. for dinner, we went for dinner with rain's parents and her brother.. had a lot of beer as her dad kept toasting with me.. went for reflexology after dinner.. karaoke after that.. meet a lot of her friends and a lot of drinking.. a lot here really means a lot.. i was drunk when we left at about 4 in the morning.. it didn't end there...  they checked in to a hotel to play mahjong.. i played 3 games with them before going to the toilet to vomit and blackout on the bed.. i have no idea who took my shoes off for me.. 

Day11 :-

i woke up to find 2 friends sleeping on the other bed with the rest of the bunch gone.. was quite shock as i couldn't find rain.. anyway, we went for food after checking out and i got a new pair of glasses after that.. for dinner, we had steaks and retire home after that.. 

Day12 :-

we picked up lily and they brought me around to buy souvenirs.. rain left me with jie li and lily's boyfriend to get a manicure.. we had duck rice which was disgusting.. the shop's hygiene was appalling.. i pretended to have a stomachache because i could not put myself to eat it.. for dinner, we had crayfish.. 2 tubs of crayfish.. they were too spicy for me.. i hardly ate anything then.. and we met two friends of rain's.. very pretty.. we went to scenes today.. karaoke and club.. by the end of the night i was vomiting my stomach out.. 

Day13 :-

flying back to malaysia today.. from liuzhou to guilin to catch the plane.. flew into kl through lcct.. guess what.. i bumped into xfern in lcct.. so random.. haha..

i had aikseng picking us up from kl and we drove back to penang.. 

that's roughly how my trip turned out.. was drunk a few times and a lot of beers..

finally i understand the meaning of two's a company, three's a crowd.. sigh~

i met somebody.. this person.. is not ugly... but not very pretty.. would say it as ok, not too bad.. 

exceptionally gentle and caring.. fun.. tantalising me every now and then.. can be stern though still alright.. charming.. ok, not that charming but certainly has got some sort of charm.. 

not my type at all.. ok, not at all though a huge proportion isn't.. but "inner beauty"? - never been a fan of it.. but this now get me thinking about the existence of such concept.. 

the tantalising part is really baffling.. i have no idea on what to make of it.. it's not a pretty sight when i take my stance.. hmmm... 

i should set my priorities right.. but how? i am already at a crossroad and now i have another few factors?

so i've bunked at kat's place for 2 nights and got a free meal out of her... hahaha...
on the first night, when i was about to go to bed, it was time for her to get up for work.. so we kinda take turns to sleep on the bed.. *this bloody keyboard is so terrible - space bar wouldn't work at times...
the free meal was quite lavish - 3 dishes.. had the fried prawn coated with salted egg yoke, steamed cod fish, and steam egg... thinking of it now, it's like grandparents style food.. but it was not too bad.. can't complain...
oh yea, poor fella had to work till 2am on the second night..
during the day, i felt like my wings were clipped and i'm stuck.. cannot really move anywhere without a car in kl..

okay.. no time.. run

my days in alor setar and penang

been lazing around alor setar since i came back and just came back from penang..

stayed with my cousin for two nights in a flat without air conditioner and water heater. sigh~ 

i met up with eileen in auto city on friday night.. then went for supper with my cousin.. had a plate of 'than', lala liked thingy, and stingray... penang is the only place that have 'than'.. 

got a hair cut on saturday and meet up with ai che for dinner and a drink... the ship was bloody ridiculous.. the food is appalling.. the beef was like grounded beef that you get in burgers.. it was suppose to be a sirloin.. d0H~

the oyster was nice though. 

after the years.. last night was the first time i went to soho, penang.       hehe..

i see lots of bapuk.. and lala mui.. but i do not think 'lala' is the correct terminology anymore.. those siew mui mui are overdressed these days.. they dressed as if they're in a wedding function or it's 13 degrees outside.. tsk tsk tsk.. 

and that is just soho.. i cannot imagine the scene in the clubs across the street...

a bit boring... nobody back yet.. sigh~

saturday and sunday

it's been awhile since my days were relatively eventful. hah..

waking up late on a saturday morning.. make that evening... i had to rush to get out of the house in time.. the tube was gracefully out of service again - engineering work.. hence my journey was twice as long.

instead of the usual 2 changes, i had to take a bus from my house to the aldgate station to catch a tube from there. it was either me being careless or tfl was lurking to trick any unsuspecting commuter.. instead of aldgate station, i got off at aldgate east station. true that it is not the end of the world but FUCK.

i did get to my destination in the end after a horrendous excursion..

meet up with jamie, jiaming, peter, waiping, and beng on sunday.. was fun.. have late lunch with jamie, and early dinner with the rest. that meant i had 3 meals within 6 hours. i'm bound to gain weight.. 

have to get up early tomorrow.. damn.. 

finished exam

i've done my last paper.. hah.. but i do not feel any different. 

anyway, after the paper, played some game, and has dinner with my cousin and her friend.. 

aku makan buta.. hahaha.. tapi tak sedap.. sigh~ 

it was really nice meeting up with her.. the journey was not pleasant though.. was a lil late but it has nothing of my fault.. bloody tube.. customer incident on the circle line and on my way back, customer incident on the jubilee line.. if these people want to die, please die somewhere else.. you're holding up the world.. !@#$@%@^

i met four girls on the tube during my journey back.. we had to stop at bermondsey for quite a while.. they were quite fun and really funny.. i could not hold back and i finally snickered at their jokes.. that was a bit of an embarrassment but they were nice.. had a good laugh.. 

british weather

it seems that i cannot complain enough about the weather.. but it is still so bloody cold today.. and today is the end of may.. it is just a few days into june... what the fuck is wrong with the system? global warming fuck with the delicate system? or the rotation of the sun? 

i am still wearing a sweater and very tempted to on the heater.. leaving my fan lying dormant in the garage. sigh~   this support what i've always said, a woman's emotion is unpredictable as british weather.. or is it british weather is unpredictable as a woman's emotion... 

either way it is a pain in the arse.. cannot scratch it nor make it go away.. can only wish it away.. ugh~

which reminds me.. i need to wash and pack up my winter clothes... plus my heavy duvet.. luggages are buried in the deep jungle of trash in the garage.. aduhai~ 

i complain too much but i cannot help it...

last paper

my last paper is in 3 days time... my exams buzz is over.. do not have the mood to go though it no more.. i cannot wait for my break so start.. but then again, when u are not present in school all year round, breaks are meaningless.. although there's a constant buzzing of voices telling you it is wrong to be out of school during school time... anyway, let's not think about it. i meant i shall not think about it. 

wheee !!!!

the few things that i have to do before i leave is meet up with jiajia, visit my aunt, go for roast duck with a friend, accompany my friend to get a m'sian visitor visa, arrange a dinner, and on top of that, pack up my stuffs... oh yea, need to do my piles of laundry before i leave.. having a lil headache to decide what to bring back and what not to bring back.. i only have 4 days between that.. 

by the way, i am quite pissed off right now.. i may sound upbeat above but i assure u i'm not.. very much annoyed.. i just want delicately lay my tightly clenched fist, not arse, on that persons not so attractive face... uh~

dinner with jia jia

had dinner with jia jia today.. it's been months since i saw her.. a typical night out of japanese food and a drink after that. 

in another unrelated issue.. i'm worried of a friend's new paradigm.. i somehow do not trust it as much.. sigh~

ugh~

i cannot wait for my last paper.. not that i like that paper, just would love to get it over and done with... after the exams is always fun.. oh yea, i think i kinda made too many promises to too many people.. i only have 4 days after my exam before i leave.. but i have made dates with at least 4 person... by the way, i don't think any of them read my blog.. so yea.. 

and i need to pack and really clean up my room.. my room is like a dump site.. sigh~

i cooked tea eggs yesterday.. my whole house smells like a giant pot of tea eggs as it houses 2 pot of tea eggs.. i cooked 30... 

my kitchen is running out of oils and sauces.. which is a huge problem.. there's no point buying more now and it is difficult to live without them.. i have a box of tonggui still.. i wonder what i should do with them..

it is nearing the end of may and it is so COLD.. this is ridiculous.. our climate is really changing isn't it.. 

i need a new notebook. this one is really really slow and the hard disk is dreadfully insufficient.. ugh~  have to bear with this for a year more..

昨天跟我朋友去吃新疆菜。点了个大盘鸡，手捉羊肉，和羊串。味道太怪，真的是吃不来。怎么都不可以搬那去。

London

my life in london is drawing to an end. i've been reminiscing about it lately. and i do not know what to make of it. 

the amount of distance i walked in london is definitely more than the total distance i walked in the first seventeen years of my life. did not experience any cultural shock but did open up to a few new things. i've learned to savour the taste of beef but failed to enjoy traditional english ale. i do not have a taste for english food; i find the english's culinary art is atrocious. fish and chips is just battered friend fish and potato chips and pies are just pastries stuffs with meats and onions. nothing special although i might find traditional beer battered fish and chips, still it is not exceptionally unique. cathedrals look alike and the buildings are monotonous. boring

i like london but i don't like london at the same time. i've lived all over london. north, south, east and west. approximately but i have a very good idea of it. i like the west, follow by the east, not so much for the north and south. in london we one from one place to another using the tube or bus. choose carefully as the speed you reach your destination using the different mode of transport varies for the different hours of the day and for the night - get a cab. i hate the public transports but there is just no other options. driving is terrible due to the traffic and if you are driving a manual car then it's worse. lots of traffic lights and the speed limit is fucking low. i've got a ticket. 

one thing i like is river thames. it's not a crystal clear river but a busy river with commuter boats, tourist laden boats, floating pubs and restaurants, and dinner cruises at night time. interesting sights of london are usually visible along the river. i would use the river service more if it is not that expensive. five quid a way and two fifty with a travel card. there is no sense in paying extra two fifty a way when a travel card is bought. travel card a month cost bloody sixty nine quid.

a lil paranoid i guess

it's been a while since my last post. finally i got rid of three papers and still have one more to go... the last paper would be on the 29th of may.. it's such a nuisance that it's so long apart and is blocking my way to early freedom.. 

over the course of period, i have a few issues weighing on the back of my head.. some major and some minor.. i treat them all equally though.. i came to realised that i am troubled by my own demons... i am afraid of the sound of my mobile and scared of my own shadows.. paranoid i suppose.. i keep hearing sounds that nobody made and lucky enough i have not seen any objects which are not to be seen.. 

over the issues, i feel complex emotions that i do not comprehend.. i pun them all in a jar and send then into a game i play on PS3.. although it's not a very good game... morally speaking.. it encourages bribery, stealing, taking over settlements, and so on.. anyhow i enjoy the game..

the poor car smells like dead bodies.. my flatmate had to drove in it.. out of anger, he throw the rotten chicken into our neighbour's backyard... poor him now washing his car at 10pm outside.. i sprayed my fcuk body spray and it smells ok for now.. not sure about tomorrow.. will spray it again maybe later.. hahaha..

3rd day of bbq

today is the 3rd night of BBQ. a lil quite sick of it.. the lamb today wasn't that nice.. it's 'yuck' actually. in accordance to that, we had a drinking session as well. 

there were the 9 of us. we were equipped with 55 bottle of beer. only 5 of us drank. so yea... none of us got drunk but we felt really shit because we played a drinking game... in this game we had to really drink it fast.. so yea... felt as if i'm going to burst me stomach. 

i shall start writing my last essay tomorrow. 

barbecue

had barbecue today.. was really good.. it was the first bbq since quite sometime ago.. i really can't remember the last time i had bbq. my flatmate made the lamb skewer that tasted like heaven... really really good... and the chicken wing was good as well.. and there's also mushroom and some sausages and some other random stuffs.. nothing compliment lamb skewers better than an ice cold beer.. ahh~ good dinner.. 

sadly shortly after dinner.. i had diarrhea... i stormed into the bathroom while my flatmate was taking a bath.. so she faced the back to me and i just took a shit... this is the first time i've done such a thing but hey.. i really need to go... didn't have a choice..

did i mentioned before that my house only has ONE toilet... well i certainly learned my lesson not to get a house with only one bathroom.. 

by the way, my poll suggest that i should balik kampung.. hence i should then.. see me there soon.. and if anyone has any job offering, please remember i'm available. 

sweeney todd

after years of procrastination, i finally watched sweeney todd; the demon barber of fleet street.

one word - beautiful.

the musics and sound effects are just brilliant. well composed pieces with nicely written lyrics. the only problem i have is with depp. his voice and facial is too familiar and they kept triggering me to think about pirates of the caribbean. his grins and his speeches are all too similar. it's like i can see both sweeney todd and jack sparrow as the same person. so i guess  his acting is just not as good as people give him credits for. judge turpin is also too much alike of severus snape. 

slight disappointment i suppose. sigh~

 

chinese exam tomorrow

terrorist

i was briefly labeled as a terrorist suspect.... while all i wanted to do was get mcdonalds... sigh~

okay, this is what happened... me and aikseng were hungry.. so we went out to get mcdonalds as they're open 24 hours. we went out as he went out in manchester and me in london..

i was driving along and the shortest route is to go through canary wharf.. to go through canary wharf, there's a few security check points... i never had problem with them before until today.. the swab from the car i'm driving came back positive so the alarm rang... sigh~

so there was some hoo haa and i need to get out of the car so they can swab the whole car and open the bonnet.. please bear in mind that i was clad in pajamas... sigh~ when asked where was i going.. i said all i want is to get mcdonalds for supper... after the 2nd swab came back negative, they let me through... when i reached mcdonalds, the queue was fucking long for midnight... and i wasn't ready to walk into the shop.. after about 10 minutes then finally i made my order.. cost 6 quids, by the way i thought it's cheap... 

upon collecting my food, i left mcD and made my way home.. i had to take a longer route as i didn't want to pass through the security check point again.. after a detour, i got home.. and that's my brief experience... brief bad experience... with security check points..

a date with an air stewardess

more of a meeting up with a friend actually... haha... don't judge a post by its title.. sometimes my titles are totally irrelevant... anyway...

i went to heathrow to meet up with a friend and so conveniently the tubes were all running late.. brilliant.. the district, circle, and piccadilly line was delayed due to a signaling failure at south kensington.. they always do that.. hence i was late.. from heathrow to the  hotel, the bus costed me bloody 4 quid a way.. i spent 12 quid on that fucking bus.. 

picked her up and we made our way to heathrow again to get the heathrow express.. very expensive as well.. 16.50 per person... but it was fast.. so... can't really complain... took the bakerloo line from paddington to piccadilly circus.. from there we walked around that area and snapped a couple of pictures... got some food in chinatown.. after that, showed her around soho and head towards trafalgar square... had a few pictures there.... 

hopped on the 435 bus towards waterloo station.. we took a stroll along the south bank while looking across to the parliament building... the sun was a pain in the arse.. sat on the field in front of london eye... trying to be angmo and enjoy the sun.. sat there for a short period before making our way to the pier and took the river service.. i personally think it is the best way to have a quick glance of london... cruising down the river thames, we pass by all the bridges and end up in canary wharf... convenient... had dinner in royal china... ordered wrong dishes.. was disappointed with myself... sigh... took a bus to go back to my house a while to get some stuffs... by then it was late and i sent her back to the hotel.. stayed over in her room as i can't make it back to canary wharf in time before the tube closes.. 

pretty much that's it... hmm... 

sounds a lil boring, no?

it's too bad she can't have a beer.. otherwise it was be lovely..

i've been taken hostage by PS3. with that i delayed my sleep for 12 hours... yes.. i sat in front of the tv more than 12 hours straight...i think it was about 15 hours - straight... i didn't even have food... weird... it was really fun though.. it must have been... otherwise i won't be in front of it for hours... playing the same game.. civilisation revolution... love it... also i'm halfway through my need for speed undercover... this nfs is not as good as its predecessors.. nevertheless i'm hooked.. another new fun game is football.. pes 2008... me and me flatmate arrange a match between saudi and isreal... hahaha... muslim god vs jewish god.... good laugh.. i'm the jewish one and i lost... cause i can't control my men well... i kept making them run in circles as i constantly lost control of which man is which...

cy's concert was quite good last night.. alasdair's performance was brilliant i would say.. although the viola concerto was not exactly perfect.. can hear a few minor errors.. i suspect it to be somewhat of a technical one.. the piece on carmen was fun and i enjoyed the pirates of the caribbean theme... during that piece, i recalled the scene where jack sparrow and william turner tried to steal the interceptor while leading james norrington to believe they were trying to get the black pearl moving... and of course there's the scene with jack on the wheel.. and also his sinking ship.. hilarious.. anyway, it was fun...

and a flute player caught my eyes.. haha.. much to the dismay of as and jr.. i find her quite hot and cute at the same time.. such a shame that i'd probably never see her again.. she's a freshman and i'm finishing my 3rd year.. probably going to be kicked out of this country soon.. sigh...

nothing goes right

okay... i did to make it to my 9am class today, due to faults that are completely none of my own! despite the freezing weather this morning, i got up and got to the station on time. my mate drove me there, otherwise it is impossible because the buses are always full when they reach my bus stop. we had to wait in the car a little while seeing that there is no way to look out of the window - too cold, layer of frost, tried to use water and wiper, water in tank frozen. that was the first part of the fiasco.

by the way, it is suppose to be SPRING now.

everything was going smoothly until i waited for the train. the announcement was there were engineering work between willenden green and stanmore which will cause 'minor' delays on the rest of the jubilee line. after waiting for 5 minutes, the sardine can arrive. hopped up and on the way we go. apart from a lil packed, everything else was alright, as in the trains are running normally. until it reached southwark. got stucked there for 15-20 minutes. all the passengers on the train with me were to leave the train in this station due to a defect. the conductor said it was like some smell coming from the carriages some where in the middle. thus, everyone got off and waited for the next train. arriving late and full. only 2 person at my door managed to squeeze in. then there the second train coming in. alas, it was full as well.

so i gave up. stormed out the station and hitched a bus to another campus meaning i skipped the 9am class. it was lucky that i know the buses around london or otherwise i would be stuck there.


what a terrible morning.

got a sandwich, bloody broad daylight robbery! £2.30 for a prawn mayo sandwich. it is as expensive as m&s but far away in terms of quality. and i'm still hungry.

heaven.... like

i personally don't believe in heaven. though, i do believe in heaven look-a-like. well, at least as portrayed in the square boxes that we call tv.

procrastination

i've been procrastinating too much. so much to do with so little time. sigh...
i ought to coordinate myself better. 3 essays and 1 test in one week's time. i hope that i will get out of this mess alive. plus a presentation for friday, more of a hate speech if you know what i mean. apart from that i have a few tasks on hand as well.

shall go have myself a treat and off to bed.

this piece looked like a bunch of rusty old bells. let me tell you, it's more than a bunch of rusty old bells. 

the precision of bianzhong(编钟）is amazing. they are pretty and huge. each bell can produce 2 distinct pitches from striking 2 different location; the primary pitch produced at the centre of the striking area, the secondary pitch near the left and right corner. the secondary pitch is usually  minor or major third higher, giving  a full chromatic range. there are 3 types of bells; first the suspended slantingly leaf-shaped cross sections, concave mouths and shanks on their crowns; second the suspended vertically bells of the same shaped with suspension loops; and a huge vertically suspended  bell with elliptical cross section and flat mouth. each bell has suspension ring and clusters of 9 knobs.

familiar with this piece? well, you should.

anyway, at this moment of my life, i feel like i'm standing right in stanza one. surrounded by a number of options for a decision that i have to make. not a very big choices but nevertheless i have to choose. these roads do not just bent in the undergrowth but even i cannot see whether they bends, or remain straight, or come up to a stream, or even a dead end. 

sigh...

which reminds me... if you look at stanza 2 and 4... it's quite irony.. in stanza 2, it's the writer said he took a road, which was just as fair. plus, he mentioned both roads were worn to the same extend. reaching stanza 4, he said he had took the road less traveled. how could he had taken the road that was less traveled when they were equally worn in the first place? 

does his 'telling with a sigh' tells us that he picked the wrong road? so does it mean that individualism is a bad thing? anyhow, this piece is contradicting itself and just describe a scenario. it offers no insight. 

should just bin it then...

day of joys and some not so joyful events

today i got my davidoff coffee and beef jerky kinda thingy. i am filled with joy. 

yes.... foods and beverages make me happy... good foods and beverages to be precise. 

let's not talk about the not-so-joyful events. 

OH MY GOD!!! these beef jerky... chewing on it till my saliva is drooling.... this is so GOOD!!! who says china has nothing good? this is just gorgeous.. marvelous.. just heaven..  mark my words, i'll try to produce this a halal version in future to show more people the joy. hell, i'll even produce a kosher version.... spread the joy...

pregnant woman

my previous encounters with pregnant women were very different with the one i just had. the previous pregnant women (those heavily pregnant- more than 8 months and only a week away from the due date) cannot drive around, walk around shopping mall, run up the stairs, and definitely cannot squat up and down. this recent one i met can do them all. leaving us to worry about her rather than her worrying about it herself. 

walking around with her around the shopping mall was quite stressful, worrying that some huge dude might bump into her and going up and down the escalator. there was also a threat that she might go into labour at that time. anyway, nothing happen and we were glad. 

i came across a 2 year old wearing glasses kid. hahaha. cute. but very snobbish. hmp.. 

snake pass was beautiful. shall i say breath taking? the snow was still there and the valley is simply gorgeous. is was prettier than pen-y-pass. though that was in spring. i love both. it was such a shame that we didn't have a camera with us. moreover it was sunny and not foggy. 

oh well, no use crying over spilt milk.

happy day

i am so excited. guess what.....

i got my hand on an antique copy of uncle tom's cabin and dombey and son. there's a copy of david copperfield as well but i don't much money to spare. sigh.....

also i got a pair of glasses.

isn't it cool? if i deduce it correctly, this is made in circa 1920s, or earlier. although this type of frames come into production in the late 1890s, but those were mostly oval instead of round. anyway, this frame is in a very good condition. not very good but still fit to be worn. but will have to change the lenses. the previous owner's left eye's lens is really thick. though the right eye is fine. i wonder who the previous owner is? is he or she dead yet? 

can't wait to change the lenses and make a few touching up. 

burgers

one of my flat mates just left. so the two of us are left with no cook. for dinner tonight, we had 6 burgers from burger king. quite sad, no? 

anyway, i've just watched bolt. the cartoon is about a delirious dog bolt, a pitiful cat mittens, and a obese hamster rhino. it wasn't bad. though i find somewhat similar to the truman show. hmm... after thinking through, i find it a bit boring and too predictable. no, don't like predictable shows. they bore me. 

ok i'm bored. 

44 hours benchmark

over chinese new year... i've reached another benchmark. it started on saturday, got up in the morning at about 8am. i can't remember what i did the whole day, probably just lazing around house. we had steamboat at night and play mahjong till the next day. non-stop whole night. we had two pots, 1st the clear soup kind and other, the spicy one. had lamb, beef, chicken, fish, and some balls. just over this weekend, i've learned another new type of mahjong. so in total i know how to play 3 types of mahjong. hongkong, wuhan, and changsa. at about 11.45am on sunday, i got out to meet up with chuin and jhuen for lunch. 

instead we had lunch, early tea, and late tea. we had jap, relatively big portions, then frozen yogurts, and some yau char guay with  cy's tau fu fah. chuin had a nabe something noodles, jhuen had some salmon, while i had beef. we ordered uni on the side and i had green tea ice cream. nice lunch. took a stroll to make our way down to piccadilly circus. there's a new shop, the national geographic shop. interesting things but really over priced. had tea and yogurt and decided to have chinese yau char guai. so we switch shop. and then with the 2p machines. they are some what persons that we call professionals, and if you only see what the 2p machines reduce them to. hahahahaha. we lost approximately 3-4 quid to the 2p machines. we disperse at about 6 or 6.30pm. they left for home and i made my way to caledonian road tube station. my mates were 45 minutes late so i had to stand in the cold for 50 minutes. stand, there were no seating and no shops nearby. oh yea, ning was so sweet, sending us texts. with jhuen last on the list and me on top of the list. oh yea, does anybody know who does 0164911517 belong to? i lost all numbers when i broke my phone. 

after picking me up at about 8pm, we head of to the karaoke place. didn't leave until 3am. throughout it, i was tired but kept on going. with some small amount of alcohol, it got really demanding. but i made it. we continued the steamboat and played mahjong again when we reached home. i didn't get to bed at least until 5.15am. that was the end of the 44 hours streak. 

another surprise was i didn't sleep for 12 hours. i got up at about 3pm monday. went out for late lunch and we to a friend's house to play mahjong again. we left about 11.30pm. slept at about 12.30am. and now here we are.

i've been playing a lot of mahjong lately. 

hard disk full

i've just deleted more than 15 tvb drama series and a few movie files. sigh~ don't have enough storage space to keep them all. just keeping a handful that i like. 500GB external hard disk is definitely not enough. but it's too expensive to get another one. 

aikseng just found downloads for me.. yay !!!!

he autonomously find madagascar2 for me. damn i'm touched. haha. in addition to that, i've got 3 seasons of yes minister, and the forbidden legend; sex and chopsticks. 

off to watch madagascar2...

normal life

trying to live a normal life. i sleep at 11 and wake up at 8. after brushing my teeth, i have breakfast with a glass of coffee. go to class when i need to. then sleep at night. but somehow i feel weird. by being so normal i feel so weird.
